    Discuss Wolf3D and Wolf3D modding/ports

I played a handful of games that used this utility back in the day. I added even a few of PITS games to my collection but the actual early game creation software still eludes me. Is anyone else here familiar with it? I think this same code base later became part of the Acknex 3d editor which was a Doom/Build style engine based out of Germany.

Something that always thought that was unique to this engine and far ahead of its time was the positional damage system. It was probably just randomized but if you got hit in the leg, it should show and make the player move slower. I think it also took into account which leg was hit, so you may move slower left than right. If your head was hit your aim would be worse.

It really gave a sense of distress and impending doom in an otherwise amateur looking game. Graphically it was typical of what a programmer could do at that time. :)

Unrelated but if you were around back then you may recognize this or games made with it:
