    Discuss Wolf3D and Wolf3D modding/ports

    Postby AshenOne 02 Feb 2021, 23:34

Today, Wolfenstein 3D The Way ID Did is finally here

Equivalent of Doom The Way ID Did, a vanilla mapset featuring 60 maps with mimicking the style of the original game's authors respectively that can be played in DOS, SDL and even ECWolf and LZWolf!

    DOWNLOAD HERE
The package shall contain the mapfiles (GAMEMAPS | MAPHEAD) the vga files (VGAHEAD | VGADICT | VGAGRAPH) and you should see another package called "Read This" containing another set of vga files, just in case if you have a version of Wolf3D with the read this option, but if you are an ECWolf/LZWolf fanatic you also get a W3DTWID.pk3 file, so you can play like it's Doom!

Some design change happened with E6M8, hopefully nobody got that far yet. Updated the maps yet again!

Interesting concept. I would love to play it one day.

Did you make all 60 maps? That's impressive...

Yes I did make all 60 maps, designed them so they can be played in any ports and any versions, carefully paying attention of the original bugs as well, like pushwalls moving 3 tiles instead of 2 or the gliding guards glitch, but I didn't want to do anything with that since I just wanted to make maps without compiling any source codes, and put doors the way they can't cause any problems with the doorsides texture. I did test all of them properly so you can get 100% ratios in every level.
