What's in the video? He doesn't seem to play Legacy Halloween in this one.

No...not yet.
But he mentions it, talks about it and shows it's Title screen.

Ah okay, cool. Maybe a candidate for the next livestream. :)

Balames wrote:Just wanted to send a little feedback on the Halloween mod since it may end up being my next livestream. So far I haven't played much of it so it will most likely be blind. It's a good mod, but there's one thing that bothers me (and I've seen this other mods, too such as Spear End of Destiny SDL Beta, Guns and Glory, and some others I can't think of at the moment). That is, when I try to turn left and right with the keyboard, BJ makes a sort of strafing arc instead of simply turning. This makes it very difficult for me to play since my hands are so accustomed to a certain way so I end up bumping into walls constantly. I hope this input was useful since I know some others play with keyboard and mouse like I do. As mentioned before, other mods seem to have this issue and at times, I get messages asking why this happens. Unfortunately, I have no answer for them.

It would be great to see you at the next (or any) livestream, but I understand if the time difference makes it difficult.

LinuxWolf, I'd need your urgent help on this issue. Balames is great promotion to our mods.

Balames wrote:Would it be more helpful if I made a short video showing the problem and make it so only you guys can see it? As you may or may not know, I like to play with keyboard and mouse. I use WASD to move. I've found that the arow keys don't make this "sweeping" motion when I turn left and right. This only happens when I switch them to A and D to turn.

I've checked a time zone converter and it says if I do a livestream at 9pm, it will be 4am where you are. Not sure how much of an early riser you are, but there you have it.

This is the beauty of livestreams! Instead of just watching someone die over and over, the audience can join in and help (at least with comments). Livestreams are really more about just having a good time. Granted, all videos should be about that, but livestreams really allow more involvement from fans so there's no boredom. Well, there shouldn't be. Sorry to say, but if this doesn't get fixed, I don't think I'll be able to play it. The fans might get a chuckle or two at first seeing me bump into walls and dying, but after a while, it will most likely get old... for everyone.

Anyway let me send you an unlisted video and you can see for yourself what I mean

For the purpose of the play-through this issue can be circumvented by using the advanced controls page to configure the bindings.

Go to Control -> Advanced Controls -> Turn Left and Turn Right

Bind them to A and D, respectively.

I will search for a fix in the mean time.

Fantastic work, Linuxwolf! :) Hopefully it'll make the game more playable for Balames.

I actually joined in for a little bit during the last livestream, and it's quite fun!

If live streaming keeps Balames around then I'm all for it. And I hope Halloween mod gives him something fun to play while doing it.
