I don't even know what to make of this project. Its insane! This raises the bar for everyone making games.

The sense of space in this is a true achievement on its own.

Thanks for posting.

Been following this game's progress for years now, religiously watching every new gameplay video out there. It's a great idea, a mixture of Elite and the obscure Noctis with old science fiction and superb visuals. The game should have been out already, but there was a slight slip and the new release date is August (or Awwgust, as the community calls it).

Plenty of people ask things like "what do you do in this kind of game", which completely ignores the obvious constatation that you simply make your own fun. With an entire galaxy as your playground, especially one so fascinating, it's hard to run out of ideas and possibilities.

Murray also addressed how big the game will be. The virtual universe featuring 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets (not to mention everything on them, and the unfathomably vast realm of stuff and non-stuff between them) takes up... 6GB. Plus, "most of that is audio", explains Murray.

So, what could we see in future updates for the game? Well, call us dreamers but Murray has said that VR would be "a really good fit" for No Man's Sky, so...

It must be procedurally generated to fit into that size. VR is a must for this project.

Yes! This is the kind of video I wanted to see about the game. Now I have a much better idea what playing the game is like, and what the gameplay is all about. I'm starting to wonder if there's any planets they'll have where you get to be a Pharaoh ... like the ones in the B.C. days of Egypt. :)

So, the game isn't as great as it was hyped.. so they reverse their decision to make DLC for the game free. Solid choices, not shooting yourself in your own foot at all :D
