Just recently discovered the indieDB...it's like moddb, only for independent games, not particulary for mods.

http://www.indiedb.com

Very cool projects, games, shooters, 3D engines....

Too little too late. When something is underground the demand goes up which fuels the desire to own it. This often can sky rocket the price of such items. That's cool that Germany lifted the ban but anyone that seriously wanted Doom likely already had it prior to the ban.

That website looks just like MobDB! Well it would appear they're related. Such sites would make an excellent advertising platform for any commercial game.

Marathon trilogy released between 1994 and 1996. I'm sure many gamers know it.
In 2001, this game began to update (Open Source).. and this is also not news.
But..
..maybe someone will be interested to see the recent significant improvements
.
Marathon 2 Durandal in the past..

.
Marathon 2 Durandal today..

.
the screenshots are different levels but the overall differences are obvious ..
.
All official trilogy (free) on the site Aleph One
In the archives new engine and..
hi-res: texture's, HUD, landscape, item's for "Marathon"
hi-res: texture's, HUD, landscape, item's & weapon, effects, model's for "Marathon 2 Durandal"
hi-res: texture's, HUD, landscape, item's & weapon, effects for "Marathon Infinity"
.
Additional hi-res plugins can be found at site Simplici7y.
Such as texture weapons for the first part of the game "Marathon" or new effects for shots, for the caustic, for fight lava, 3D items, etc.

P.S. I want to apologize that in the "news section" I telling about "old news". I just love this game for a long time .. Because "Marathon" it is not only a dynamic and smart FPS. "Marathon" is also a science fiction novel.. i.e. book in game with a good story that continues with new episodes in the new scenarios.. "Marathon: Aeon", "Eternal X", "Marathon: Phoenix", "The Grey Incident", "Marathon: Evil", "Rubicon X", "Devil in a Blue Dress", etc.. World "Marathon" greatly expanded affecting many topics .. For example in the story "Marathon Red" appears character named Joshua (referring to books of Moses).. And is it possible to speak of a non-linear saga whose protagonist was between the past and the future..
Incidentally FPS "Halo" partly alludes to the relationship with the universe "Marathon". :)

Stumbled upon this when I was browsing through Steam Green Light: German fortress 3D...

Why I am bringing it up, is that it seems to be using WSJ:s enemies and other graphics taken from Wolfenstein 3D mods.
I doubt other graphics are also lifted as well and used without (?) permission.
