One of my favourite singers, Mei Feingold (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mei_Feingold) was selected to represent Israel this time, and I'm soooo excited.

Second runner-up was great singer as well (and will probably represent us next year), but this one is just....gonna blow Eurovision's stage :)
She is so strong, so talented, with such great voice and presence...3rd place in "Israel's Idol"...was raped in the past with rape drug...amazing life story, very strong person....and the voice....is simply....

"Hallelujah" of Leonard Cohen (hebrew version, from "Israel Idol")

Thanks for the links. The producing of the songs seems a little flat, though; she's doing a fantastic job, yet all the instrumentalists are just sitting back, playing casually. That's not appropriate for the songs we see here.

The lyrics themselves aren't very strong, either; if you're aiming for a song with good lyrics in more than one language, hire two separate lyricists, each writing in the language they know best. Yes, it's more expensive, and it takes more time. But it yields better results when it's put in competent hands.

Thanks :) Hope they'll choose the first song, it's the most popular on youtube among people from other countries, and I like it the most as well.

"Same heart" was chosen to represent Israel. >0<
There are still potential legal issues as the second runner can sue to cancel it, and it has 2 good reasons why.

I was surprised at the start because traditionally the entrants from Israel don't sing in English but then it obviously switches by the second verse. To be honest it does sound like a Eurovision type song.

She has a really interesting timbre in her voice.

This is part of the "legal" issues I've mentioned. According to internal israeli eurovision committee rules - song to represent Israel must have at least 50% hebrew text in it. This basically "promised" fail of Israeli songs..as people love lyrics in songs....go figure :)
This song had more than 2/3 of the song in english, it's part of it's success...but also a reason the second runner wanting to sue in demand to cancel this song going unfairly against strict competition rules (obeyed by 2 other competitors).

To be honest it does sound like a Eurovision type song.
Votes from abroad were for this song too. So both israelis and people from abroad clearly selected the same song. This hints of potential success of a song...at least relative to other choices.

She has a really interesting timbre in her voice.
She is amazing. Love her so much OO-o

This is pure hate for Israel mixed with antisemitism. She gave the best performance at the semifinal with the best sonds. All casinos and experts gave her high chances to win even the final, noone even doubted about the semifinal.

I'm the last person to say "antisemitism" as explanation to actions.....but this is just so obvious....this is antisemitism in the most clearst form.

What do you think of her performance, Dean?

Let's remember that this is just a silly song contest with disposable music, and that accusations of antisemitism in this regard are just silly. This is a contest where you can score a lot of points just for being a girl with a beard, so let's not take it too seriously shall we? It's camp.

Outside of when Lena won it a few years back I don't think the best song usually wins Max and it's not why I watch the show and why Australians love it.

I hope no one watched that apalling display from Australia in the 2nd Semi final. That was a complete embarrassment and does not represent Australia in any way. A lot of people here were very upset with how that protrayed our country to the rest of the World.

The Girl who sung the song is quite good and quite well liked here but she's not like a superstar here or anything. She was on Australian Idol a few seasons before it finished and didn't even win it.
